Today we walked 46 km, basically 2 stages, from Catrojeriz to Fromista, and from Fromista to Corrion de los Condes. We had not been able to get a room at Fromista, and had booked a hostel at Corrion, and therefore had the long walk. It was a bit frightening that we had to walk that long - how would the body, legs and feets hold together? It went much better than expected. I started alone and slept a bit longer. The others got up a bit after 5 and started to walk 5:30 to see the sunrise. I started walking at 6:30 and went uphill for a long time to reach the top with a great view.
I found the group in the first cafe about 2 hours in. I got breakfast, and we met a Canadian Michael that did a Camino Yoga session for us before the Camino Crossfit.
We took lunch at 26 km, and still felt lots of energy. It is mostly mentally, and since we had prepared ourselves for 46 km, the 26 felt easy.
We walked the last part with several stops to make sure we had got coffee and icecream enough, and of course to take care of our feets. I have started to take my shoes and socks off when I take a break and add lotion or vaseline to the feed
Rain and wind started to come and the last two hours was a bit tougher.
Making fun can make tough times easier, and Ciara and I did a prank by hiding us and frighten the others.
We got to the hostel at 19:30, so with breaks it was 11 hours of walking - a long day. We had a 3 beds room with own bath, really nice. Since it was so late, shower had to wait and we went directly to a restaurant to get a burger.
